Fort Desoto, Tampa

Fort Desoto, Tampa

Mark and I go on little adventures across Florida and last Thursday Mary and I went on one of our little adventures.

We went to Tampa and to Fort Desoto

Our first stop was the rest area just before the Skyway Bridge
Mark and I parked the car and started walking toward the bridge
We saw this little bugger on a wall and I thought he was really interesting

Out in the distance is the beautiful vision of the Skyway bridge

We tried really hard to get the bridge in the background =D

I had to add a little old timey feel to this one
I like to use Pisca for adjusting lighting and a little filters
I think he looks super cute =D

We did finally quit playing around at the rest stop and made it out to Fort Desoto
There is an Island not to far away from Fort Desoto called Egmont Key
and this is the Boat that would take you out to the Island.

The Skyway from Fort Desoto
If you look super close there is a huge freight liner heading into the port of Tampa

Needless to say that Fort Desoto island is huge but we did finally make it to the Fort
There are tons of rooms where Ammo was stored, the barracks, and the mess hall.

Could you let me out please there are Spiders in here!!

Alot of fun is pretending to be in jail =D
I think Mark does a great job of pretending to be in jail

In between the sections of Barracks and storage rooms are sentry guns there were four in each courtyard but now there is only two.
Looking down the barrel of the enormous gun, peek-a-boo I see Mark!

If Mark could have a gun I think he is happy with this one
I mean come on look at his face!

This is one of the longer rooms in the Fort that Mark is checking out with the flash light on his phone

Across from the Fort is a beach and a fishing pier
This little guy was just chilling on the Pier
When I got close enough for him to move we noticed that he only had little numbs
Something had happened to his feet is made me a little sad

Taking a break from all the walking
<3

We had Tons of fun at Fort Desoto the is the sight leaving the Fort
A beautiful typical Florida view

If you do get a chance to take a little adventure and you do get to head over to Fort Desoto
It's one of the Beautiful State Parks that Florida has to offer
Lots of things to look at and explore
Head over to the website for more information about Fort Desoto and the amenities that it has to offer!
Happy Adventuring!

Fix Fest

Fix Fest

Okay for those of you that don't know what fix fest is...
Well it's a giant collection of Volkswagen fans, the ones who dive them, the ones who fix them and the ones who can't live without them =D

Lucky me Mark is one of those VDub fans
Last year we got the opportunity to hit up the FixFest in Bradenton at Desoto Super Speed Way.

Thankfully it was a chance for me to break out my camera and try my hand at a different type of photogrpahy.

This is Before...

Kinda dark but I Really like the clouds reflecting in the hood

This is the After...

Boosted the color a bit and the lighting and I couldn't forget my logo

Car Numero Dos
aka
The Bumble Bee

This car actually was in Eruo Tuner Magazine
The entire car's theme is Black and yellow.
The engine bay, the interior, and even the wheels
It was actually a really awesome car to look at, and it was an awesome attention to detail!

This is the after!

The one thing I really like to do is selective color and what better car to do it with than the Bumble Bee!!
I had to adjust the lighting a little bit then used photoshop to select the background
Then desaturate the selected background

The one thing at Fix Fest that I thought was awesome was the decorations with duct tape on the cars around the entire place!
Some had mustaches and sayings,
This one had to be my all time favorite!

Not only did the duct tape entertain me but some of the most extreme attention details
Like this engine cover awesomely painted!

This car was something I couldn't help but trying with the editing
I played around with the Cut out effect on Photoshop
I slid the bar on different levels and the clarity
I finally found a happy medium with 5 different levels

The dueling Bugs!
Not only was there a car show
BUT
There was a drag strip for the cars to try to make fastest lap

This had to be my fav shot and I think the most important thing that I learned about trying to shoot cars is the angles
Normally you would shoot something straight on but you really don't get the full depth or the feel of the vehicle if you shoot it straight on
So tip of the day: when shooting cars try a complete different angle it just might suprise you!

If you get a chance to check out a car show
Fix Fest is the place to be!

Meet Supra

Meet Supra

This is our wonderful Supra!

We adopted her when we were in NC in December.
She is such a bundle of energy and spoiled rotten =D

She is learning how to pose for mom since I am constantly in her face with my camera.

"Yuck mom don't take that picture of me I'm not ready yet"

Even though she has her own bed she loves to hop up on the couch and on the bed as well!

Mark and I are starting to Crate Train her and she is battling us at every turn.
A plus is that she is potty trained so we really don't have to worry about accidents in the house or in the crate.

Tip for taking pictures of pups
BE PATIENT!!
and have treats!!

The sit and stay commands and lots of treats are definitely the trick!

I try to find an open and clear spot where there arnt going to be any distractions where Supra can focus on me and the commands that I'm giving her.

Give the sit command or whatever command your want them to pose in and then the treats begin. Then just start snapping away!

If they move don't get mad they are like children they don't want to sit still.

Don;t get me wrong taking pictures of Supra is a work in progress and it takes lots of time!
there will be more to come =D

Logan's Shoot

Logan's 3rd Birthday Shoot

After cake, presents, and party food Logan's Mommy dearest Kasey dawned Logan in an adorable outfit for his shoot.
Kasey and Logan live out in Palmetto where there an abundance of perfect places to get the perfect shot.
At just 3 years old Logan did awesome at posing and not being afraid to jump in grass that was taller than he was, that also might contribute to the fact that he is a 3 year old boy too =D!
This was the before shot
Logan does an awesome job of haming it up
for me!

 AFTER
This took some playing around with
I usually try to stick to as little editing as possible but I just couldent resist adding an oldtime-y feel to this picture
I mean come on now he looked lie a cowboy minus the hat!

Next Mom, Dad, and Logan

Okay so here is the original
Isn't wonderful that they all have red hair!
So freking adorable!!!

Okay so I cropped a bit and boosted the color a bit to bring out that wonderful red!

Oh how he loves his momma

He didn't exactly want to be up there had to have some help from momma

Something a good photogrpaher should always have when taking pictures of children
is a jacket with lost of pockets for a couple of resons.
1.) A place to put toys and cansy
2.) Pockets for literally everything of the just in cases
and of course
3.) to keep you warm it just might be cold out there!

Mister pouty face

Logan showing us the way home
I still can't get over his outfit!
Momma you did an awesome job finding it!

After cake and tons of pictures I think Logan is kinda done

Starting the New Year off Right!
